Foodies Festival comes to Tatton Park
If there is one thing better than a relaxed Sunday stroll through Tatton Park it has got to be a relaxed Sunday stroll resulting in a bag full of delicious goodies and an afternoon exploring the amazing food items Cheshire has to offer. Celebrating its eleventh year, the Foodies Festival prides itself on being the United Kingdom’s biggest series of food festivals and it ran all weekend in the centre of Tatton Park. Offering explorers the opportunity to try everything from Madagascan chocolate to Limpopo Biltong and Blackcurrant Vodka. There was something for everyone and as if that was not enough ones’ afternoon could have been finished off with a baking tutorial or a high tea at the Vintage Tea tent.
With so much to choose from it is no surprise that we spent the better part of our afternoon there, traveling from Spain - delicious Churros - to spicy Indian curries, to finely forged German knives. Gusto had a stand offering customers amazing deals and the opportunity to cook fine food in the heart of your home while Samphire had an awesome prize up for grabs. One of my favourites was the Godiva chocolate stand with ginormous strawberries dipped in fine dark and milk chocolate. They were as amazing as they sound.
For those who are not as inspired buy the food stalls but were dragged along by their loved ones the beer tents and cocktail stands were complemented by some live entertainment and takeaway food stalls, which were not dampened by the constant light rain and muddy grounds, a great reason to get those wellies out. All in all a day well spent and a fridge full of inspiring goodies. Cannot wait for the foodies to return next year. For those of you who missed it and cannot wait till next year catch the Foodies Festival in Edinburgh 5 - 7 August, sounds like a great excuse for a holiday.
